AUTUMN 2017 NEWSLETTER

Congratulations to the 1st XI for being runners up in Division 2 and the 3rd XI for winning Division 7E. We must be doing something right as a club. Now that the season is finished there is no face to face contact with many members to inform them of what is happening at the club. So this newsletter is intended to keep you in the picture.

End of Season Ground Clear Up

Dave Perry and Tim Phillips have been working hard to put everything away for the winter. The end of season works to the cricket square has been completed. Next season we will need more volunteers.

Adult Section Presentation Night

Our annual presentation night is to be held at our club pavilion on Saturday the 14th October with a prompt 7.30pm start. Trophies will be awarded for best performances during the season, food will be available with a modest financial contribution and there will be disco to round off the evening. Please make the effort to attend. You are welcome to bring friends and family.

League Presentation Night

This is to be held at the Athena on Friday the 27th October at 7pm. Of course we will be collecting a trophy. Ticket details have been confirmed by the League but there are two options: a £35 sit down 3 course dinner or a £5 entry with optional hot food buffet. I need to book tables in advance so let me know if you wish to attend and with what option. You are welcome to bring partners. I need your orders by Friday the 13th October – by email, text (including your name) or phone call or leave a message with Richard Wright at the pavilion bar.

Winter Indoor Nets

We will be commencing our weekly indoor practice sessions on Thursday evenings at the Mike Turner Indoor Cricket School at the County Ground, Curzon Road. LE2 8EB from the 19th October. 8 to 9 pm. We have two net lanes before Christmas. If it becomes two crowded we will organise a rota system

Club AGM

The club AGM is to be held on Monday the 4th December at 7.30pm at the pavilion. A notice and agenda will be circulated in due course. Anyone interested in standing as a captain of a team or other officer of the club should let me know prior to then. Also let me know if you wish to propose changes to the club constitution so the Club’s Management Committee can consider them in advance.
